The “Trap” in Sports Betting

It should be well known to you that the sports books are all about laying traps. These books do not simply give out gifts to bettors. This means that if a line looks like it is too good to be true, you need to look the other way. There are tons of different factors that go into making lines. The one assumption that you must make is that the books have more and better information than you do. Because of this fact, they can set lines in a way that will take advantage of you in some instances. 

You need to know when the traps are going to jump up and get you. Is a high name recognition team playing on the road in a tough environment? Does the line look very low? Are public bettors all over the team that should cover? This is your first indication that you might be walking into a trap. This is not to say that every situation will turn out that way. It is just to say that you have to be aware of the traps. You do not want to lose your shirt on one that looked too good to be true.
