Who Will Win the 2013 Superbowl?

Everyone wants to know who is going to win the Superbowl in 2013. Whether it is for the purpose of placing an early bet or just for their own personal knowledge, people want to know the answer to this question. It is almost impossible to answer, especially given the parity in the league. If you listed to the word out of Charlotte, the Panthers are going to win it all. At least that’s what a starting tackle said in the local paper. Chances are that the Panthers won’t win it all. So who will take home the big trophy?

Eliminating the New York Giants

Let us start by talking about the Giants. The New York Giants were a nice story in 2012. They made an improbable run from nearly missing the playoffs to winning it all. They overcame the odds, taking down the Falcons, beating the Packers in Green Bay, and getting very lucky to escape San Francisco with a victory. They then got more good breaks in beating the New England Patriots in the big game. This won’t be their year, though. That kind of luck will not repeat itself, and the Giants don’t have the horses to run with the NFL’s best teams. Don’t be surprised if they miss the playoffs in 2012.

Can the Packers shake off the ugly ending to 2012?

Many people thought the Packers had a chance to go undefeated. Until they ran into Kansas City, the Packers seemed poised to go where no team had gone before. After all, the Packers had a great team and a great QB. They looked to be unstoppable. Then things fell apart. Receivers dropped passes and the defense gave up big plays. That is going to be the undoing of the Packers in 2012 and 2013. The Packer defense is going to struggle to contain the big play. This will hurt them in their quest for playoff glory.

Can the Patriots climb the mountain again?

The New England Patriots might have been the best team in the NFL last season. They had great play on both sides of the ball. Tom Brady enters this year still in his prime, though he might start slipping soon. This is probably the closing of the Patriot Superbowl window. Can they win again? Or will they run into the same old problems? The Patriots will have a shot. They might even make a run deep into the playoffs. They aren’t going to win it all, though. The New England dynasty is officially done and this season will provide evidence of that.

Can the Saints recover from a terrible offseason?

You might want to go ahead and cross the Saints off of your list of possible winners. Without Sean Payton, their offense is sure to struggle. They have had a tough offseason and will be missing some key pieces in the 2012 and 2013 season. This just won’t be the year for Drew Brees and company.

Houston will win it all in 2013

The Houston Texans were a great story in 2012, winning the division and finally winning a playoff game. They did most of that with a third-string rookie under center. Matt Schaub is back in 2012. The running backs are solid. The defense emerged as one of the best units in the NFL last year. With J.J. Watt getting better, they should be formidable once again. You can expect the Texans to ride the momentum of last year, winning eleven regular season games. From there, they will use good defense to win their first Superbowl.
